Christmas 2009

So when I started looking through all my Christmas pictures I realized that ALL didn't translate to very many pictures.

Goose was scheduled to work "days" on Christmas day, so we planned ahead and woke the kids up early so that Goose could see their reactions to what Santa brought them. Apparently Goose and I don't function very well at 4:00am. We made sure to get video, but we forgot to take some still shots. Oops!!!

During Christmas at Grandma's house, Goose was working, so naturally my hands were full helping the kids open their gifts...so no pictures from there either.

Fear not though...Goose did manage to take a few pictures during the Stansell Family Christmas at Grandpa & Grandnanna's. Goose tends to take actions shots so there weren't very many to pick from, but here is a few of what he got.

Miles loved opening his gifts...he had to make sure that all the paper was off before he would look at the toy.

Tenley modeling the jacket that Aunt Cara & Uncle Beau gave her. She couldn't wait to wear it to school and show her friends.

Grandnanna couldn't resist when she came across this little item. Although I have to admit that it is pretty cute!! When you press the nose it moos like a cow!!

Miles made it look like so much fun that Tenley had to have her turn!

Tenley had just opened up this cute little frog...and couldn't resist giving her a hug.

You could never tell from the expressions on the adults faces, but we are about to open gifts...

and in less then 30 minutes we turned Steve & Nancy's house into this...

I can't guarantee that a few Christmas gifts did not get "lost" in the clean up process!!!

She is NOT my friend!!!

I know I don't have to keep telling you, but Tenley is so funny!!!

The other day we were headed to town and Goose and I were talking baby names...

I asked Tenley what she thought of a few of the names we were talking about. She surprised us by saying that we should name the baby...wait for it...wait for it...Tenley!!! That's right she wants us to name the new baby...Baby Tenley.

Goose and I smiled and then I told her..."Tenley, we can't name the baby Tenley...that is your name." She looked very upset and said "So? I like that name"! I smiled even bigger and replied we like that name as well...that is why it is your name!

She thought for a minute and then said, "If you don't name the baby Tenley...then I'm not you friend!!!"

Happy 2nd Birthday Day to my Big Boy!!!

I can't believe that Miles is 2!!! I know people say it all the time, but WOW...time really does fly by!

I am going to go ahead and confess...I was a bad Mommy this year...

You see, I am finding that Miles' birthday tends to sneak up on me. I mean one minute it's Christmas and then BOOM...it's Miles' birthday! So by the time I got around to thinking about a party the family members that live close already had plans on the weekends before and after his birthday(NOT that I am blaming his lack of a party on any of them). It just made it very easy for me to say we aren't going to have a party.

Before you start thinking too badly of me...

We(Goose, Me, Tenley, and Miles) did have supper, presents, and cake for the little guy. I don't think he minded.

Ok...so it's not the prettiest cake you have ever seen...but it sure did taste good!!!
He just can't believe that the gifts are all his! I think he has his hands tucked into his lap so that he doesn't open the gifts before he is supposed to!!

We gave him a "tractors" book and this...He loved it...of course! He loves anything and everything about trucks!

All in all, I think he still enjoyed his birthday even though he didn't get a big family party!
