SURPRISE...Party!!!

Thank you for waiting...I finally got all of the pics uploaded. So sit back and enjoy!

Here is the Bday boy...I think he's looking pretty good for 30. He has a few grey hairs, and a few aches and pains, but he still gets down and plays with the kids. I think overall he still has a few more good years left.
Knowing Goose as I do, I knew that a big, public, surprise party would be a stretch for him. So I opted to have a small, private, surprise party in Steve & Nancy's backyard:)

The plan was in motion...Goose would get off from work Friday(his Bday) at 5:00. Everyone was to wait for my text that he had made it into the house. Once he was in the shower everyone would show up and go through the back gate and wait for us to come outside...then everyone would yell...SURPRISE!!!

Well...as you already know...things never workout exactly like they are supposed to. Goose got off and hour early and I started scrambling to get everyone here before he caught on. Just when it seemed I couldn't wait any longer before he realized what was happening, everyone made it.

He wasn't completely surprised...Rocky(Beau & Cara's dog) ran into the house(we must have forgotten to tell him it was a surprise party:) and with that Goose was up to speed with what was going on in the back yard.

Reluctantly, Goose did eventually come out into the back yard and the party was on.
This picture doesn't do the spread we had justice. We had food to spare! Thank You so much to Mark...He came early and cooked all the hamburgers and hot dogs, so that the food was ready for everyone to eat. Normally that would have been Goose's job, but for obvious reasons, I asked Mark to do the grilling.
Grandma made sure to get plenty of Little Wade kisses during the party.
I love this picture of Evie(Esther& Mark's little girl)...you can tell she is really conflicted...should she sit down and slide or just walk down it. She is one tough little girl.
Miles loves to slide
Laney(Esther& Mark's oldest girl), Ian, and Miles...they were playing so well together.
Goose was trying to get sweet smiles from Wade.
Everyone had fun...even Zayne.

Nancy rented a jumbo jumper from Ready, Set, Bounce. It is owned by Kitty Welch(she is one of my best friends). It was such a great idea...I think it actually turned out better than she or I thought it would.
Miles had so much fun...it was hard to get him out of the jumper.
Goose and Bryan "chatting it up"...it only kind of looks like they were posing for the camera.

Ready, Set, Bounce...
It was such a pretty evening...perfect weather, family, great friends, food...does it get any better than this?
Goose even got in the jumper and had fun with the kids.
Just a big kid at heart!
All the kids were excited when Goose got in to jump with them.
We finished off the party with homemade ice cream and cake...

It was a great party...I'm pretty sure everyone left full and happy.

Happy Birthday Goose...We all love you!!!

It's True...

It happened...

There's No denying it...

I might as well tell you...

You're going to find out anyway...

I want you all to be the firsts to know...

Here is the scoop...

No more putting it off...

Goose is 30!!!
...What did you think I was going to say???

Goose turned 30 last Friday. I planned and executed a successful surprise party...much to Goose's disappointment:) If you know him AT ALL you know he HATES surprise parties.

Thanks to Cara I have several pics that I am going to blog with...but it's taking forever to upload them, so give me a couple of days.

As much as I would like for it too, my life does not pause for me to get my blogging done. Right this very minute as I type I have a very hungry family waiting for supper. Sorry for the suspense...I will try to hurry with the pics.

Amazing Talent

I know...y'all really want pictures of the kids. Believe me I'm working on them.

BUT...in the meantime. I wanted you to see some beautiful works of art.

I want to show you some Amie Murray originals...
Angela had her friend create these wonderful cows for Sydney's baby room. I had no idea until they came in the mail. I was so overwhelmed when I saw them I actually cried.
These pictures do not do justice to these paintings...the colors are so vivid and breath taking.
After falling in love with the cows I asked Amie to work her magic again and make some for Miles' room.
All I told her was that he loves planes, trains, and tractors. Then she came up with these...amazing...right??? I know...talent straight from God! I didn't tell her boats, and he loves those. I didn't tell her monkeys are his favorite animals or that he sleeps with a stuff one just about every night. Those are just a few of the things that she added that make his paintings PERFECT!

Look closely at the paintings(both sets) and see how the "fit" together.

Although both of these sets are child based...Amie's talents far exceed children's rooms. She sketched the background of Angela's wedding invitation. I tried to find the invitation(yes, I saved it. It was that pretty) so I could show you, but I don't remember where I put it.

Here is the address to her website... http://www.mymurraydesign.com

She is an awesome wife, mother, and friend. A few months back she made the decision to be a stay at home mom to her with her son. If you like her work and want something for your home contact her. She would be happy to bless your family, just as she has done mine.

Apparently Sketchers Are IN!!!

This actually goes under the "Laughs with Tenley", but I just couldn't resist making this funny story into it's own blog.
Last Friday after Goose got off work, we headed to C-City with the kids. We wanted to see if Wood's Boots had any work boots that would fit Goose(not as easy as it sounds for his size 15 feet).

The kids were being unusually hyper, so Miles stayed with Goose looking at work boots and Tenley and Sydney went with me to look at girl shoes.

As Soon as we got to the back room(where they keep the girl shoes) Tenley walked right over to the Sketchers display and pulled a pair off. After looking at them for a couple of minutes she said, "Momma, can I please get these Sketchers?".

I was shocked to say the least. I immediately wondered how she knew they were sketchers? So I asked her, "Tenley, how do you know those are Sketchers?"

She looked at me(with a look I can only describe as a...Come on Mom...look) and said, "Everyone wears them"

It is a sad...sad day when a 4yr old surpasses her mother in the "ins and outs" of style & fashion.
