Riggs Reunion...

Its been a long time coming, but Mom finally put together our first family reunion. She told everyone in advance, so we would all be able to be there.

Mom and Dad rented a house in the the Colorado mountains, so we wouldn't be distracted...this weekend was all about family, food, and fun. There were trails to hike. a pond just off the creek to fish in, play ground toys, lots of land for camping and playing out door games and we even had domino games to play. It was very peaceful. There was NO cell service, I couldn't check email, text, call anyone, or check facebook. I discovered...I didn't mind! It was so nice to get away.

First night...talking around the fire. Mom and Dad, Ang, Josiah, Brooklyn, and our Family all made it there Friday. Everyone else got there on Sat.
Tenley thought Pop's head lamp was pretty cool.
Also, Ang had some pretty cool house boots...
A little bit of fishing...Dad bought Miles and Tenley their own fishing poles. Miles got spiderman and Tenley's was Barbie.
Someone didn't want her picture taken...
They are hard at work trying to catch those fish...I didn't have the heart to tell them that with out hooks on their lines they wont catch anything. The poles came with little weights to help the kids learn how to cast.
In short time, Miles became a pro at casting...
Taking time for a little mexican train...
I guess Ten thought Uncle Ross needed a hug...
"Hello Daddy, sure you can take my picture" "Cheese!"
Typical Ross...Poor Ang...Unless I'm mistaken, I think Ross was trying to poot in her face...
The women making breakfast...
Playing...
Look at that face...he has a plan...
If he can just pull himself up...
...VICTORY!!! King of the play house!!!
Goose and Ten just chilling...
Just a swinging...
Oh Brooklyn...you're so funny, and you have the best toys
This is all she did all weekend...just kidding, I just wanted to make sure Ang made my blog...Love ya!!
Look out, Syd has discovered the slide...
Aunt Meme and Uncle Ross were awesome...I bet they helped her down that slide 30+ times just that afternoon.
Proof that Pop helped with the cooking...but don't be fooled. O'ma did the bulk of the work.
Patty cake, Patty cake, bakers man...
Our version of a mesquito proof pack'n play...Syd wasn't impressed
Pam and Ra (the newly weds) Why does it seem like it's been a lot longer than 4 months??
The kids watching a movie before bedtime...
Poor Aunt Meme...little does she know that once you become a "hair victim" to Ten, you will always be one(just ask Aunt Cara)
The aftermath of Ten fixing Pam's hair...
In turn Ten had Aunt Meme fix her hair...Ten was pretty pleased. I think it makes her look more grown up.
On one end you have Mexican Train...on the other you have 42. I would like to add that J2(Johnnie & Josiah) won at 42....muahahahaha!)
Ten was so excited that Aunt Anch and Aunt Nicki let her play the grown-ups game...
Ten working on a craft project that O'ma brought for her...
..."All because two people fell in love"...
All in All I would say the the 1st Annual Riggs Reunion was a success...ready for next year!

This one all but fell out...
 Cheezzzzeeeeeee!
Side note: her first permanent tooth is coming in, I don't want to say it's big, so I'll just say...she got her Daddy's teeth.

Galveston

I have had never been to the ocean...

Some would same that Galveston doesn't count, but they are wrong. After our trip to Lake Livingston, Goose surprised me by not heading home. In fact he headed in the opposite direction. I tried to nap, but since I couldn't figure out where he was going, I was forced to stay awake...some would say it's my controlling nature coming out, I say I just like to be informed!

You have to understand my confusion, Goose doesn't generally do spontaneous things. So I didn't just jump to the conclusion that he had called my boss and requested an additional day of vacation for me, researched a suitable hotel(right off the ocean), and drove us straight to the ocean...but that is exactly what he did!!!!

I could have cried right there, I was blown away by his thoughtfulness!

Happy boy seeing the ocean for the first time...
He just kept running up and down the beach...he thought it was so cool.
The girls weren't as sure as miles at first...it took them a little while to warn up to the water.
Syd was so cute...she would run out to the water, until she saw a little wave coming back and then she would tuck tail and head back towards the beach...
The kids trying to build a sand castle...
Daddy finally got Syd to go out in the water...she liked it ok, as long as Mommy or Daddy were right there with her.
Look at that sweet face...can't you tell she was having a blast!
Ornery little stink...I told him to smile for the camera and he acted like he was going to throw sand all over me...
You just can't beat that little face...such mischief!
The kids going back out to wash some of the sand off...
It was so cute watching them...just play...running out to the water and back. Ah...to be a carefree kid again...
Daddy said he was going out to get water to make sand castles...I think his actual plan was to throw both buckets of water on me, but thankfully Syd spoiled his plans and dumped both buckets when he wasn't looking.
Daddy stepped in to help the kids build a castle, but unfortunately as quickly as they were building them, Syd and Miles were taking turns knocking them over, so I didn't get any good shots of a castle.
Syd knocking Miles castle over as quickly as he was building it...
I should have got a group picture at the beginning...
Oh well...you get what you get...
Even though we were only there for a day, the kids still managed to get in some time at the hotel pool...
Well, poor Syd didn't get to go to the pool, but she still managed to get a ringside seat. I was taking pictures of the kids and looked over at her...She pulled the stool up all by herself...and just hopped right up there.
My little fishes...
So happy to be in the water...
Before we left Goose let me stop at the famous Murdochs souvenir shop...I bought each of the kids and Goose and I gifts to remember our first trip to the ocean...
Much like the lake, I'm sure this will not be our last time to the beach. Next time we'll have to plan on staying longer, but this was prefect for our first trip.

Thank for taking us Babe, I will always remember our first trip to the ocean and how you surprised me...I love you!!!
