Yes, I know Sunday was EASTER Sunday. But that was the only time that it would work out for family to come. The weekend of her birthday a lot of the family members were going to be working. Plus as a bonus, with us having the party on Easter Sunday we were able to have MORE family that otherwise wouldn't have been able to come. Like Aunt Nicki, Uncle Beau, Aunt Cara, little cousin Ian, Ricky and Lori.
With all of the family it was close quarters, but all in all I think it was ok. With there being so many people I did become painfully aware of the fact that Goose, me, and ten kids are not going to fit in that house. I guess we will cross that bridge when we get there.
Tenley had a great time!! As you can see her theme was "Cars".
Goose and I were so excited to give Tenley a tricycle for her birthday. We did have mixed emotions though. Most of you probably don't know, but Tenley's big gift for Christmas was a rocking horse. Goose and I just knew she would love it. She loved the "ride a little horsey" song. Why wouldn't she love her very own little horsey??? Well she didn't!!! And to tell you the truth she still doesn't have very much to do with "Clyde" (He came with that name!!)
It seems as though we did much better this time. It took her a minute to take the tricycle in, but when she did, she couldn't contain her excitement. She wanted to ride it right there in the living room. While holding her new toys, of course!! Now she loves to take her "cycle" out and play on the driveway. She rides it like Fred Flintstone would....all feet. Goose tried to get her to use her peddles. She wanted nothing to do with it!!!
A good friend, that I work with (she had a daughter Tenley's age), told me the other day that she read that age 3 is when kids are developmentally ready to learn to use the peddles.....oh well!!! Tenley can have fun being "Fred" til she is 3.
With Easter weekend being the first time that all the Stansell (and Mcloed) grand kids were together. Us adults thought it would be a great Kodak moment. All I can say it the kids had something else in mind!!!
I took three pictures and I thought these were the best two. I will let you decide which is the best one!! As you can tell the babies want nothing to do with this picture business!!!
Now...if you look all 3 of the the big kids are smiling beautifully!!! Now...the babies on the other hand. I think Kate is making a break for it. Ian is just plum conked out!! And Miles is staring at whoever is sitting in the recliner. Isn't that about right?? If the big kids are happy then the babies are upset. If the babies are happy then the big kids are upset!!!
Maybe next time!!!
