Only in Texas....
Last Tuesday the kids had a soccer game, and it was so cold that I literally put the kids in layers. I put their gym pants on over their jeans and their soccer jerseys over their jackets.
Sydney...just being as cute as she can. She didn't go, we asked Grandnanna to keep her at their house so she wouldn't be out in the cold. Syd thought she needed a jacket because Miles and Ten were putting theirs on.Miles wasn't at all happy about the layers...in truth I think he wanted to stay with Grandnanna too. According to Goose he stayed on the sidelines throughout the whole game so I guess we could have left him with Grandnanna.
He cheered up a little when I told him he could take a pic with Syd and Ten.
When it's this cold, do you blame them for getting a little distracted?
I get cold just looking at this picture.
Then this week...
The sun was out and shining...so bright and pretty. It was a little windy, but lets face it...this is west Texas...when isn't it windy?
We have been having a little bit of trouble with Miles not wanting to play. I think it is a shy thing. Cause at home he loves it. He kicks the ball around and dribbles back and forth. But when it comes to actual practice he gets distracted. And playing in a game is just out of the question.
I gave Miles some "magic" bubblegum that was going to him play. It was looking promising, he got out there and was warming up with the team.
Warming up, before the game...and loving it!
Stretching...we don't want to pull anything
Miles surprised us all by getting right in there and playing with the best of them. He actually almost scored a goal. I told Tenley not to be shy or wait for the ball to come to her, but to get in there and take it. She did really well too.
The Wildcats #1 fan!!
Syd gets bored quickly at these soccer games...she wants to get down and run onto the field. So...
I distracted her with kisses. She moves out and then back in for a open mouth slobbery kiss. I easily got 30 kisses during this game.
Not really sure what she was doing here, but I thought it was a cute picture.
"Mom, stop taking my pic...I'm trying to listen to Coach Grey"
This is what I like to see...team work!
Miles did have a melt down in the 3rd quarter. I'm still not sure exactly what happened, but he was done. I think he tried to kick the ball and another kid kicked it first so it upset him. He went out and played so this game was still a victory and I look forward to the rest of there games.
In the 3-5yrs we aren't supposed to keep score, but being the competitive person I am, I keep score. This game was a tie, so a win in my book.
To celebrate we went to Pizza Inn
Don't they all look happy:)
I don't know what she was telling Granddad...but she was very serious about it.
If you want to come to a game...let me know. Most of their games are on Tuesdays, but they play on a couple of Saturdays towards the end of April.
