Alanna called the Friday before Spring Break and asked if I wanted to get the kids together for a "fun" day during the break (she is so organized and good at getting things together). Of course the kids would be up for anything, and I thought it was a great idea. We decided on Joyland in LBK. I invited Steph and her boys to join us. This way we would have 6 riders and 3 non-riders. Everyone would have a buddy to ride with.
Honestly I can't remember now who told me, but I had heard that Joyland wasn't that great, so I went with my expectations pretty low. I figured the kids would have fun regardless. But was I in for a surprise...the kids and I had a blast! Yes, me too. Because Kate and Miles were in the "in-between" stage I was able to ride some of the rides with them. I probably haven't rode carnival rides in 10 yrs. It definitely brought back my youth. You will have to tune into Alanna's blog for pictures of me riding the rides(although, I'm secretly hoping that none of the ones of me turned out)
Here are pics of the kids having some fun...
We started off with the "Horseies" as Miles called them. Tenley was ready to get to the "bigger" rides.Steph thought Syd looked really funny upside down so she took her pic.
Ah...the much loved Log ride. I think the kids would have spent all day here if we had let them.
Poor Miles...he was about an inch too short for the log ride...he was so sad. Next time buddy!Tenley on the other hand was ecstatic that she made the cut.
Zachary & Luke taking their turn...The old fart up front is the one that wouldn't let Miles ride.
Here is our bunch...Zayne stayed with Meme.
Ten and Rach are ready to ride the train.
Ten and Kate are in the first plane and you can see the top of Miles head in the second one.
Miles favorite ride ended up being a toss up between this kiddie coaster and the horseies. I think he thought this one was more fun, but he does love horses.
Rach and Kate are strapped in and ready to go...
We stayed together for a while, but then the big kids were ready for their rides. So I took Kate and Miles back to the rides they could ride together. I was worried Kate would want to stay with the big kids, but she said she would ride with Miles.
Let's get this train agoing...Around...Around we go!!
Now this ride was just almost too much...who wants to drive a car backwards??? Miles didn't seem to mind though.
The true difference between boys and girls...every time they passed Kate was playing with something different on the plane...and every time they passed Miles would shoot me with the toy gun!
Miles was so excited he finally got to ride a water ride with Luke he couldn't hardly stand it.
Now this is a scary thought...Ten and Kate steering a boat. Luckily they weren't given too much latitude.
"Gee fellas this has been great fun, but can we go home?"
Alanna, thanks for inviting us, we have a terrific time!! Let's do it again!!!

You got such cute pictures of Kate and Miles on the rides together. Next year they won't have to bother with the little kids rides. It will be the log ride all day!!!
