Tenley's 5!!!

Tenley has a cool birthday, meaning most of the time it falls on Spring Break and she doesn't have to go to school. However, this little 5 yr old had other plans. She had her mind made up...she HAD to go to school. If she didn't go to school they wouldn't sing to her, give her birthday tickles, and she wouldn't be able to share her birthday cake. I tired to tell her they would do all that on Monday, but there was just no getting around it...she was going to school on her birthday.

So I got up early and baked her a cake to take to share with her friends...Pink and Purple...Of course!
A little too much pink, if you ask me. I wasn't very proud of this cake, but hey...it just had to please 5 yr olds.
My Big Girl...

With it being Spring Break, I was off from work, so I picked the kids up early and we headed over to my Aunts. My cousin Lori was in town for a couple of days. Since Lori's Bday had been on Sunday and it was Tenley's Bday. Aunt Dar made a cake for them to share.
Birthday cake # 2...
Lori & Tenley
My little Girlie, Girl! This was her pose all day...I'm 5
All primped and polished. Toe nails polished...check! Bracelet...check! Belt...check! Hair fixed...check! She is ready to celebrate in style!

Later that night...
We had our family party. We ate fried chicken and mashed potatoes(Tenley's request). Because I was tired from all the birthday cakes and cupcakes I had made for Miles, Sydney, and Tenley, I didn't make a cake special for just us. We put candles in the leftover cake from school and Aunt Dar's. Tenley didn't seem to mind. She was ready to get open her gift...
There it is again...I'm 5!
A Unicorn Pillow Pet!!! She has wanted this since Santa mistakenly left her a Bumble Bee at Christmas. What was he thinking?!?! I told her "Santa probably ran out". She said, "No, he forgot I wanted the Unicorn not the Bumble Bee"
"So it's Tenley's Birthday...big deal...I don't see why we have to make such a big fuss?"

Whew! It was a busy day...I'm tired again just thinking about it.

I can't believe Miss Tenley is five years old!!! It really does blow my mind that my baby brother has a five year old!!! How can that be? I love her and wish we could have been there to celebrate her big day!!!

On a side note, I am just loving the many great facial expressions of Miles you've posted recently!!! Reminds me of his daddy! Makes me laugh every time! :)

I'm sorry! I didn't realize I was still signed into my Sunday School class's gmail account when I commented! That last comment was from me, Aunt Cara!!!
